Chat provides direct messages and group channels; Meet adds audio and video meetings.

Direct messages

Click + and choose Direct message to find a colleague and start a conversation. You find colleagues within your organisation by name or email address. People you add appear in the conversation immediately.

Channels

With Create channel you create a group channel for a team. Members you add become part of it immediately.

Meetings

From a conversation or channel you start an audio or video meeting. Participants receive a join link.

Reactions, files and AI

You can react to messages with emoji, share files and have a conversation summarised by the AI assistant.

Behind the scenes

Chat runs on the open Matrix protocol (Synapse); meetings on a self-hosted Jitsi. Messages stay within your own infrastructure.
